Why not telephone Rick Nieman directly? He knows his monitors and can help you.

That board was made for  us (as I  instructed ) to match the Toshiba picture tube.

It was made by Cheng Hong/Rodotron ... we are the sole distributor for North America.

Yes CH66629B is correct.

Hope this helps.

Rick
Always happy to help.., for the best in displays

Thank You, Rick I appreciate  that you took the time to talk to me and solve the mystery for me. This is one of the reasons I decided to get one of his monitor because I heard that he has very good customer service. Now I can research on the monitor and get good settings in groovymame. :applaud: :notworthy:

Ok. So I found the manual online on this website: http://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/Rodotron_666#Documentation. It's save to say that the one I have is the highlighted in red in this picture for model 666B-29. I forgot to ask what is the difference between  Rodotron model 666A-29 and the one I have 666B-29 ?

I forgot to thank you for your suggestion. Do have experience with Rodotron 666B-29.

you have marked the b+ voltages, they would have been factory set so don't adjust them

the 666a matches 0.300mh horizontal deflection yoke, the 666b matches 0.195mh deflection yokes-the chassis look identical but there will be some very different value components in certain positions

This chassis would have matched to a particular tube by Rick

I just wanted to have a better understanding of the chassis so I pointed out in red what the voltages were compare to the other ones. I would be too scare to play around and change stuff in the monitor. Thanks for the concern. One quick question will I damage my monitor if I leave on 1k OHM impedance instead of 75 Ohm, impedance I noticed that 1k OHM impedance makes my games more vivid and shows less scanlines in my groovyUme setup with my pc.

Hi, thanks for the reply but I don't understand the first two sentences of your comment. thanks for the concern I will e-mail him my question regarding the impedance setting. That's really the only thing I touch.

you can leave it at 1k but you chance burning the image into your tube (static things like  "insert coin" messages etc.) you can leave it there, but turn down your brightness and contrast a little.

don't forget this is a crt monitor...not a super bright plasma display with a billion to 1 contrast ratio. your vision has been sullied by high definition.  :-\

Thanks, I have contrast almost all the way and brightness. Does it matter if is like that. I like how vivid the games look and sharp. So It would safer to turn down the contrast and brightness more.

I'm not going to hold you back...you can crank that thing up as bright as you want and have it look how you like, i'm just warning you, really bright graphics can be burnt into your screen if they get left on for long periods of time. You can reduce this chance by toning things down a little.

with lcd and plasma display having become dominant, crt tubes aren't a dime a dozen anymore. You will come to the realization one day that you need a new tube or monitor and there won't be any left. Sad to say, it's pretty much here and now. It's best to hold on to what you have and keep it as long as you can.

Who knows, one day in the far future you could sell that monitor for $5000 to a guy trying to restore his big buck hunter.  :dunno

I turned down as suggested. I guess its better to be safe now and not worry about screen graphics into the screen.

So the next step for me would to start a thread  in the groovymame section with my findings about my chassis in hope someone can provide me some codes to put into groovyume.
