How are people handling migration to HDTV's?
« on: August 31, 2013, 02:07:59 pm »
I was always happy with my CRT TV through component setup but that changed with the onslaught of good PC fighting games that have been released since SFIV, and the HLSL feature in MAME.

I'm considering retrofitting my cab with an LCD monitor but the aspect ratio difference presents a significant hurdle and I definitely don't want to make a new one.

The solution I'm leaning towards just routing the edges of my cab and dropping in a 32" LCD monitor to replace my 27" CRT TV but you can imagine how awkward that will look.  Another alternative could be using an even bigger monitor and rotating it vertically to cover most of the width of the screen but that could cause other problems in terms of image output control.  What I certainly don't want is a tiny image within a huge bezel.

What are other doing?
