N64 Emulators and such

K, well, I know this has been posted before, but yabbse's search feature BLOWS.

Anyway, what's the best N64 emulator for me?   I remember UltraHLE being particularily cool back in my Voodoo days, but I haven't been able to get any Glide wrappers working with my GeForce 2 MX400 card.  I sold my Voodoo 2 card quite a while ago, otherwise I'd use that (with the passthru and the stuff)

Nemu is okay, but there are some glitches, sound lags, and I can't seem to load the frikkin game by command line.  It' brings up the GUI every time.

Blade64 has yet to work for me at all.  Anyone have any suggestions?

My cab is a:
Athlon 1600+
ATI Radeon 7500 64MB
128MB RAM
Windows 98 SE

A while ago I thought I heard PJ64 was a good 'un.  I don't use them myself so not 100% tho...

I've never heard it advertised as a really good N64 emulator, but I found 1964 to be the best.

I use PJ64 and have been pretty happy with it.  Last I knew it was generally viewed as one of the best and there is a version offered by someone that allows for exit by use of the escape key which is great for mamewah.   I can't remember right off hand who was offering it though.

I find Project64 to be the best one for me.  It plays most of the popular games just fine on my PIII 1gig.  N64 emulation is still very buggy, but personally, if I can run Mario64 and MarioKart 64 then I'm happy  

The modified version (exit with escape key) of the Project64 exe is available at my website.  You'll still need to install the full thing first though.

I'll give you the three best IMHO...Project 64--ties for best with 1964 (it has been discontinued   but still very good), 1964--is as good as PJ64 and still in development (it's nearing a "final" release which promises to bring HUGE improvements...note development will most likely continue even after its "final" release as it is open source   ), Muppen64--it's quite good since its latest release in September (very good already and under active development; this could very soon be the best N64 emulator).

Oh, plugins for these emulators are pretty much interchangable.

Just my thoughts--opinions vary!

To start a game in full screen, load up Project64, go to Options->Settings, click on the options tab, then check the "On loading a ROM go to full screen" option.
