How to change horizontal geometry
« on: August 25, 2013, 10:44:41 am »
Hi,

I've been successfully using groovymame with a SCART TV for a few months  :applaud: but would love to work out how to alter the H geometry so that the image isn't so over scanned on my TV.

I've read through some very complex post on this forum but can't work out exactly what I need to change in mame.ini

So far I've opened arcade osd for 384 x 240 at 60hz and by changing H front porch from 2 (2.033) to 3 (3.002) the image is placed perfectly. I assume the next step is to reflect this in a monitor spec_line?

At the moment my mame.ini has CRT_range0 to 9 all set to Auto, should I replace one of the Autos with a spec line and how do I know what spec to use?

Thanks in advance.

What monitor preset are you currently using in mame.ini?

Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

Hi Calamity, I was hoping you'd reply  :)

The mame.ini has what I assume is the default preset of generic_15

Thanks for the support Calamity - think it's about time I made a donation. If it's not too much bother please can you post the link to donate, can't remember where to find it?
