CRT Emu Drivers not outputting 15k with Radeon 4890

I installed the 9.3 drivers for my radeon 4890, but it still outputs 31k.  It doesn't sync with my arcade monitor and is still outputting 31k to my test lcd monitor.

It has 3 ports: 2x dvi, and one svideo.  I am using the dvi port that is closest to the motherboard with a dvi-vga adapter.   The other dvi doesn't appear to put out anything - plugging it to my LCD does not give a "out of sync" message, nor does it display anything on the arcade monitor when I hook it up.

I installed by removing all previous drivers with ati removal utility, and used the xp 64 drivers. 

I've done this on two other systems, with no problems.  I don't understand why it isn't working.

Driver reads HD radeon 4890.  using arcade OSD, i don't see any 640x480x60i in my list of resolutions.

Shouldn't I get 15k output right after installing?

That's how I remember it working the last two builds I did, though, with different cards.  I'm pretty sure i don't have to run VMM to get 15k support - it should just output after installing the drivers and restarting.

There is a problem with CRT Emudriver 9.3 x64, it doesn't install the modelines. I just realized last week. Until I have some time to recompile the packages, please download the latest VMMaker 1.3c package and run it once you install the drivers (make sure to configure it through vmmaker.ini):

That was it!  Using the newer version of VMMaker with the 9.3 package worked.


Though, I am noticing my resolutions are a little more flicker-y... Adjusting the pots helps a little, but it seems like my old machine looked better... Going to pull it out and try it and make sure its not simply my imagination.

Is it possible to have one card that is a little more flicker-y / doesn't sync as well with the arcade monitor?  Or could it just be my setup?   I will also look at my last machine's VMM ini to try and mirror the new machine with the old to make sure the settings are correct for this monitor.

Some cards might perform better regarding interlaced modes,  however progressive modes, which are used the most, should look exactly the same.

You are right - it was my imagination, and some of the emulators were not set to the proper resolution, causing flickering in 640x480i or some such.
