Isolation Transformer question
« on: August 17, 2013, 12:21:45 am »
Hey guys, working on my Moon Cresta cocktail I am working on converting it to Jamma to run a 60 in 1. I was wiring up the switching power supply, and when I got to the part about the isolation transformer, I noticed what I thought was the transformer looked a little different than the ones from the write ups I was reading. After some searching it turns out that what I thought was the Isolation Transformer is actually the power supply for the original game. I watched a video, and it showed a pac-man power supply and it looked just like mine, except it had the isolation transformer right next to it. The only other major component that was there was a huge capacitor.

How am I supposed to hook up this monitor to the new power supply? I have heard so much about how you need the Isolation on the monitor and that it is dangerous to run without it, but were there monitors that did not require them? The monitor is a Mitsubishi brand, the model number is half worn off. Any suggestions on what to do?

Edit:
This is my monitor board, I guess Mitsubishi is just the tube (still learning all of this)

Do you have found the solution? I'm als doubting with mine. I don't know if it is an isolation transformer or a power supply and i also don't know how to hook up my monitor (wich wire goes were).
