Hello, I am new to the forum.

I originally had an arcade vga3000 card installed in my sega astro city via jpac and i run windows xp 64 bit. I decided to make the switch to the crt emudriver after reading several posts about users saying it's much better. I decided to get myself a Radeon HD4850 as it was listed as supported in the 9.3 section of drivers for windows xp 64 bit. I have done a complete reinstall as fresh of windows xp, installed all chipset drivers and also direct x etc. I have the yellow explanation mark coming up for the standard vga card in device manager so i know there is no old driver files lurking around. I proceeded to install the 1.2a 9.3 driver set for windows xp64. When i accept the user agreement and hit yes i immediately get the message "setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system, setup will now exit." It then gives me the option to restart or continue in windows. I have also tried installing the driver through add new hardware and also device manager pointing the folder to the driver folder. Nothing works, i have managed to install soft 15hz ok and this gives me a stable image and the resolutions i could get with arcade vga. I hope someone can direct me in the right way as how to sort this, i do hope my card is compatable as i bought it new for £50. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's probably just that your particular model is not listed in the driver's .inf, just like the case of this user:

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133668.0.html

Post your video card's hardware identifiers (control panel/display adapters/properties/details...). Or just look at the files that need to be modified in the post I linked, it's not big deal.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

Thanks again. I'm not sure which parts to change in the ini files. I looked at the other post but can not figure out which parts to change, if you could help me with this so i can install the drivers that would be great. I have already set up the vmmaker.ini ready with custom monitor preset as my monitor is a nanao ms929. Kind regards Paul

Just wanted to say thank you to calamity for helping me with the installation. It was much appreciated and I now have the card and drivers working great.

Just trying to work out what is the best vmmaker settings for me, the nanao ms929 preset didn't work well for me so I am currently using the Arcade_15 and CGA settings and it is fitting my monitor perfectly. I decided to opt for the 256 limit on the vertical and adjusted the v pot for 256, the black bars aren't that bad for horizontal games in my opinion.

Going to have a look at groovyume now and see how it looks for console systems.

Many thanks for all your hard work, got my astro city looking great now, so glad i switched from the arcade vga.
