Mad Dog Mccree DVD - Problems with Video Quality
« on: July 30, 2013, 05:48:35 pm »
I recently installed the Singe DVD version of Mad Dog McCree after finding the disc cheap on eBay.

The game functions correctly, but the video quality is terrible - worse than the CD-Rom edition that I replaced. The edges of people, lines of buildings, etc. are wavy/pixelated/blocky, and there is some noticeable distortion in the background.

The odd thing is, if I browse to the video files inside the singe/maddog/dvd/ folder (the .m2v files) and have them play through Windows Media Player, they look great - just how a DVD should look. Much, much better than the CD-Rom video files.

Has anyone else had this experience? If not, any idea what's going on? It's as if the Singe program is corrupting the video image "on-the-fly" during playback, since the video always looks great when played on its own through Windows.

RDG (creator of the excellent Singe Installers for ALG games) seems to be missing in action - are you out there, RDG?

Thanks
