Hello fellow arcadophiles.
We have a game room at our company, and in said game room, sitting in the corner, for years, has been an old MACE The Dark Age cabinet. My boss used to work at Atari, back when they made arcade games, and this is one he worked on. The facilities manager wants it gone, and my boss offered it to me.
This is not a production model, but a prototype version of the game, and it appears the cabinet was originally a War Gods cabinet. The cabinet art isn't even silk screened on, it's on big like, decal sheets on the side. The video no longer works, but the rest of it seems to run when I flick the switch. I can hear people fighting, just can't see anything.
My plan, is to rip the guts out, replace the monitor with a flat screen, and MAME it. However, before I do so, I wanted to make sure that this was not some sacrilegious act I would be performing. I had no memory of MACE, and it doesn't seem like it was very popular, but I figured I should check before I become
this lady.
Here's some pictures if it helps:
