  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Centipede Side Art?
« on: July 08, 2013, 05:05:01 am »
I couldn't find any large, print quality photo or vector drawing of centipede side art to download. Is there such a file anywhere?
I know there's places you can buy it printed, but I'm just looking for a file right now.

Do you guys think I should make my own? I've already started working on it. Do you think I should finish it?
I got the best pictures I could find and began drawing/tracing with adobe illustrator.
I have excellent Illustrator skills and I also have a new pen tablet.
It'd be easier if I had a 20,000 pixel tall photo. I might go to an arcade and see if I can take a picture.
So would it be helpful to the arcade gaming community if I made a good vector drawing of the
centipede side art? I went to a couple of sites that had free arcade cabinet art to download, but
neither of them had the centipede side art.
I really love the style of this artwork. The linework is amazing and gorgeous.
Does anyone know who the artist was, and did he create art for any other video games?

If anyone could give me some extremely high resolution (as high as possible) photos of the centipede side art, that would be great.

Here's what I've done so far on the vector drawing.
I started out by using live trace, which is sloppy but a good way to get started, and now I'm going through it bit by bit to make it as accurate is I can. The upper left leg is mostly done and looks much better then the lower left leg, which I haven't worked on yet.

Yes sir I was able to.  I didn't click on it.  I just right clicked and did a "Save Image As".  Its fairly large so hopefully you can do a vectored version for yourself.
