Space Invaders LOOK WHAT I FOUND HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: July 01, 2013, 12:57:44 am »
Hey everyone,

I found this yesterday, it has been used as a car seat in a VW beatle in someones backyard for 15 years.

Amazingly its 99% complete and is in really good shape!

Just wondering if anyone knows if this is a legit board and can provide me with any history on it?
I am looking to restore it, the CRT is a black and white and has a little screen burn but you can not even see that when the unit is on.

The game board doesnt start up correctly, its all distorted and no sound (might not be wired up)
You can see what appears to be counting then it looks like the game might be running but its overal just chaos on the screen.

I am cleaning up the board tonight then i am going to rewire it as i do not know if it is even wired correctly.
It looks like its a Logitech board.

Here are some pictures.

Not any help really, but this looks like a sweet little cab!  :applaud:   If you don't get any help on the board ID from these guys here you may have some luck over on the klov forums. I can post the pics for you if you don't have an account/or don't want to sign up...

So i have confirmed that all the wiring is correct by backtracking voltage and ground from the IC's.

Everything is powered up correctly but still getting garbage.
We tested the monitor using a external camera and the video is perfect!

Good old black and white!!!

An inspection of the audio board reveled that a capacitor and LM3900 are missing.
I can only buy these in bulk and they cost nothing so i think i will go ahead and replace all off it.

I read somewhere that a good test is to remove all rom chips and power it up.
And i should see some bars.

Here is a video of startup with no IC's
