Picked up a Mitsubishi XC-2930C and have questions
« on: November 13, 2003, 06:40:07 pm »
Hi,

Like the title said - just picked up a Mitsubishi XC-2930C to be used in a 4 player MAME cabinet.

http://www.monitorworld.com/Monitors/mitsubishi/megaviewpro29xc2930c.html

I do have a few questions for you monitor quru's now. There are multiple ways to hook this bad boy up - it has a 5 BNC connection (both syncs?) and it has svideo, and some 30? pin plug labeled rgb2 (mac?)

I have a 4 BNC cable already - does it warrant me buying a 5 BNC cable? Would anyone choose to hook it up with the svideo?

What would be a decent video card to purchase to match this system - it is going to run on a Athlon 2400+ with 512 Mb

Thanks for taking the time!

This monitor looks like it'll take 15kHz, meaning it can run most mame games in their orginal resolutions. The ArcadeVGA for ease of setup, or a Trident Blade T64 card and Advance Mame for the cheaper but harder to setup card for arcade perfect output. You're going to need to get the 5BNC cable.

Definately an interesting monitor.

It looks like it will do almost all games natively, plus windows as well!   It looks like any card can drive it, as it goes up to 1600x1200
