how to get horses in Minecraft!?

My kid is bothering me about getting horses in Minecraft. I'm watching you tube, looking all over the google, trying to find some kind of spawn cheat, just can't find it!!! All I see is about breading horses. I just want to find one at least for crying out loud! point me in the right direction before I lose my mind with this nonsense!

Thx, for that, but I already found out about POSSIBILITY of horses in 1.6. My kid found out about the horses from youtube (in action) and after some deeper research I found out that there is some mods to get horses, I have downloaded them and... gave up for now. I guess I'll wait till the official 1.6.

Just went through this with my daughter hehe.  Short of it is you have to download the beta/pre-release "dev" launcher.  Seems to work fine.

if you REALLY want horses a guy can inventory hack a "spawn egg" for a horse.

or start another world in creative mode then you have your pick of everything.
