power instinct 5 sound problem

i used to be able to play this game perfectly fine (but with some slowdown when alot was happening on screen) but i tried playin the game again today, the sound goes like "CSHHHH!" its loud, and doesny happen while watching the game intro.  but when i press coin, the sound is messed up.  i play the game and the sound is messed up the whole time, and while hearing the music.  i dont get whats wrong, i need help.

even tried an emulator and even through that it still had the same exact problem.  i noticed this problem happened after i opened some of the songs in windows media player (they where .WAV files, and the opening was .AVI, which i watched), thats the only time i messed with the sounds.  but now, even after deletin and gettin the game again, the problem is still there.  this is drivin me crazy! ive been tryin to fix it for 4 hours now!

I haven't played that game much, but it sounds like the cause of your troubles didn't get deleted and replaced.

There are versions out there that save nvram (the service menu settings, high scores, etc) to the game folder and other versions that save to a D:\ drive.
Deleting that file may help.

The only other thing I can think of is that when you played the sounds in WMP, you changed the file associations to always open them using WMP.

If you're using arcadepcloader, I don't know what other layer of issues it might add.

today, before i tried what you said, for some reason the opening movie has audio again before i did anything.  i saw a save folder in the D:/ drive, i deleted it and the sound is still messed up.  .wav always opened with windows media player (it had the icon before opening).  i got arcadepcloader after these problems happened, so i dont think its from that.

i remembered i also listened to king of fighters maximum impact regulation a's audio files in windows media player also, and that games sound is perfectly fine.

this threads pretty much dead, so, whoever helps me fix this super f***in annoying sound problem, ill give you $20 to your paypal account.  i just want this damn game to work, its my 2nd favorite pc game, im desperate.

final bump, and a small update on what ive still been tryin

i tried opening with sandboxied, and it still failed.

i put the games folder on my PSP, tried playing the game through that, and the sound was still messed up.

i tried disabling windows media player (wouldnt let me), and instead making the files open through quicktime, it still made the noise.

i tried makin the sound files open through wordpad, and the game still makes the noise.
