Street Fighter 2 CE
« on: June 15, 2013, 08:16:46 pm »
Hey all,

I purchased a Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition and started a restore on it about 5 years ago. I've finally decided to put it all back together and have some fun with it.

When I got it the wiring was a complete hackjob and I pretty much just tore it out how it was. I did have a wiring diagram then but that seems to have been lost.

Does anyone have this diagram or know where I can find it? Its not listed in the manuals that I;ve downloaded.

thanks

Malenko

Can you be more specific in terms of wiring? Your best best is probably to just pull the wiring and put in a new JAMMA harness and reuse the existing kick harness. This is a time when pictures really help.

the gist of arcade wiring, and this is a BROAD GENERALIZATION is:

Power in, power splits to ISO transformer for monitor the other side goes to switching power supply. JAMMA harness wires into power supply and that harness connects to pretty much everything else (Look up JAMMA wiring diagram) the kick harness for SF2 plugs into the SF2 board and leads to the kick buttons on both players.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Its standard jamma, except the kick harness buy a labeled wiring harness and you shouldn't have much problem wiring it up.

I have the AC stuff done. Its really the kick harness and one end of the jamma. the molex housings are missing and there are some extra wires spliced in there. I'd like to just make it right. The monitor connector also have 6 extra wires hanging about.

I'll try to snap some pics.

Yes I just re-read your post and saw that your manual didn't help.
I've seen these pinouts in a manual somewhere.
Here's a kick harness pinout here
http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/spies.cgi?action=url&type=pinout&page=Capcom-CPS-Jamma.html

The monitor basically needs red, green, blue, video ground & sync.

What monitor is in there? You will need a manual or pinout for that monitor, that won't be covered in the sf2 manual.
