Do I need an Isolation Transformer for this monitor?
« on: June 14, 2013, 01:10:16 am »
I picked up a Dynamo Showcase cabinet and it has a giant 39inch monitor. I'm not sure if it works or what I need to power it on and test it. From the pics does anyone know if this monitor just plugs directly into a standard outlet or does it need an Isolation Transformer and/or something else? I can provide more pics and info if needed. I just wanted to get some input on this so I can test it out over the weekend.

Before I powered it up, I would find out where that goo came from on the flyback transformer knob.  It likely came from within the flyback and may cause issues if you power it up.

This document http://www.wellsgardner.com/pdf/spec/K7600_39.pdf states that no isolation transformer is required.  There's your answer.

Replace that flyback transformer ($30 or so) also.

They sometimes put silicone over things from the factory that are considered non-adjustable by the end user. Not sure, but thats kinda what that looks like to me.
