Updated with Pic.Isolation Transformer Wire up to Nanao MS8-26SU need help

So from a standard PC style power plug which is to be plugged into a smartstrip for the mame arcade machine. The other equipment plug side has been stripped down to the bare Black, White and Green Wires.

Black is my Hot, White is Neutral and Green is Earth/Ground

I have a 120V Isolation transformer from Twisted Quarter. (see pic)


What is the best way to wire this up to my Nanao MS8-26SU  So that everything is correct. Does this Ground wire need to go up and connect to the frame of the monitor or is there a standard post or terminal on the chassis for grounding?

I also need to wire the Degauss wire up to this and use a push button to degauss the monitor from time to time.

I'm having a hard time to gt people to chime in on this so I created a wiring drawing to help visualize what I'm working on.

 Here is my latest wiring schematic. Unless someone here says this won't work or needs some changes I should get this hooked up this week.

Yeah that looks fine.
Just remember you wanna plug the ISO transformer into the switched outlet, not one of the constant hots.
Just out of curiosity, why are you manually switching the degaussing coil? Are you rotating the monitor?

You may be interested in adding some kind of time delay relay into that circuit in order to give the degaussing coil a little cool down time.
With you current proposed setup, if you pressed the button over and over again, the coil would go each time and quickly burn out.

as I understand it (since these Nanao's came from lots of Sega Model 2 arcade games they all included manual degauss buttons which is wired to a degauss wire that is on my monitor.

Ok. I didn't know they were manual on those. I've worked on one once but didn't pay attention to how the degaussing circuit was done.

If you're gonna just have the switch wired in and out of sight, then you should be fine. Otherwise you can use a time delayed relay.

Here's the one that used for many different tasks.

It can be set up thorough the dip switches and dial to activate for a specific time upon being tripped or to wait a specific time to activate after being tripped.

The only thing is in your case, the circuit is 120vac and this relay operates on 12 or 24 VDC so you'd need another small ice cube relay that would activate off the 120vac any time the degaussing circuit goes active.
    There are a few ways to get it done and you'd have to experiment.

From what I remember, your connection for the degauss coil is wrong. In any case there needs to be a Thermistor with a positive co-efficient connected in the degauss coil connection. It should already be there I think on the main board it is PTH501. What this does when you activate the degaussing coil it will control the voltage being applied to about 8 cycles of the 120 volts AC, it will reduce that voltage linearly so that the degauss coil does not leave a dc magnetic signature on the tube. The momentary contact switch if I remember right and based on the Schematic gets connected between pin 5 &7 of the input connector, should be rated at least 120Volt (or240) 5 amp.

Btw is there in the works an LCOS or Led CRT hybrid that projects on a glass tube? Use some digital programmable magic to display a CRT type image on curved glass?

Well i actually understand your diagram but just to be sure i want some explanations........
Do i need to ground the isolation transformer like in photo???

Can you be more detailed on the 5 pin connector and where the 2 cables goes (they goes to 110v supply or push button), like i upload in pictures
