Can't Control Advancemenu w/ joystick in GA - cursor spazzing out

Using Groovy Arcade w/ updated GM

I enabled joystick use in Advancemenu through the manual config utility, setting joystick to "auto." 

When I get to the menu though, the joystick keeps moving left.  I could almost control it, but it keeps moving.

I am using a madcatz TE fightstick.  I think the joystick is considered a "pov" hat or something.  Is there a setting I need to change to get it to work properly?

Hello, I had almost the same issue (for me it was going up by itself) with a madcatz te ps3. I messed with settings and now it works. Well it still goes up when I launch advancemenu but as soon as I move the stick in any direcion it stops going crazy. Try to change the joystick type to sdl in advance.rc. I also changed the keyboard type to sdl.

Almost forgot: I leave the TE into LS position (the 3-position switch beside the home button)
