How to get spinner working in MAME
« on: May 12, 2013, 02:47:01 am »
I can't get my Tornado spinner to work in game. I plug into my PC and it does move my pointer left to right but in games like Tempest it won't budge. What can I do to make out work?

Have you tried clearing the input and re-assigning it?

It may not be on the right device/axis if multi-mouse is enabled.

Mame Menu - Input (General) - Player 1

1. Clear Dial Analog, Dial Analog Inc and Dial Analog Dec (highlight the input, press enter, press escape)

2. Assign input to Dial Analog (press enter then turn the spinner)  Leave the Inc and Dec as "none"

Did you enable it in your Mame.ini file?

Got it,Thanx. I was looking on some old instructions from a SlikStik manual which was similar but wasn't working because the spinner is considered mouse #2.

Trust me I looked around maybe not hard enough but I looked. I had even downloaded an old pdf instructions for a SlikStick CP's. The problem with that was it was still talking about MAME32 116 I think, so the directions were a little outdated.
Also if some one asked for help I would at least point them in the right direction not call them out. This is a forum to discuss and help.

darkSSide - ignore Gray and his trolling.  Ask away and we'll help.  Pay it forward.  All that jazz.
