Marquee collage header or cpo art file
« on: April 16, 2013, 07:30:55 pm »
I have seen a few tasteful multicade examples of marquee collaged artwork on location and wanted to know if anyone had a file or know what I am talking about?  I want to print out that art for my multicade at home.  Thank you!

** EDIT ** scroll down for the link of the final product :D :applaud:

Have you checked arcadeartlibrary.com ??  Do you have a bad picture of one you like?  Looking at most of the multicade Marquees I found in an image search you should be able to produce your own fairly easily.  All the vector art is available readily.  A copy of Inkscape & Gimp, a bit of a learning curve and off you go.

Although if you mean an image made up of lots of official Marquees that could be a bit harder to do.  Ideally put up a pic of what you have in mind.

Here are some examples.  The one I have seen is like the marquees are exploded in a confetti manner.  Ill see if I can stop by the arcade today and take a pic.  Maybe someone can offer some tips on how to mimic the art.

OK Quick and dirty,  I used a program called Andrea Mosaic and Fotoresizer.  First I took all the Marquees I had and converted them to JPG, I then went through and removed all the really odd sized ones. I used Fotoresizer to resize everything to 300x168@100 DPI and then created the below image.  Originally its about 10k Pixels wide so I scaled it down somewhat in Gimp.  May help you a little bit.

You could create a plain white image of say 4800 Wide by 2700 High Set the size of the tiles to the correct width for your images, play around a bit with borders and the like and it should automatically fill everything in.  I may edit post in a few minutes with an attachment. (Done  :laugh2:)

The issue you will probably run into is the quality of the original images you are dealing with.  My original set is all 72DPI & 500PX x ???
you could go through and find all the best quality images and those that resize nicely and get a much better finish.

geez it appears I forgot to click submit on my last reply, here is the look I am shooting for.  Kind of like a confetti / marquee's all over explosion kinda feel.  I can grab all of the different marquee files for all the games in the 60 in 1, and now all I need is a batch function perhaps in Photoshop to randomly scatter them all?  How do you accomplish that?

Thanx! My brother inlaw has a jamma 60-1 that this would be a great marquee and control panel.

I am stoked someone else is getting to use this! :D feel free to modify the layers and re-arrange them in any fashion you like.  I think it has a decent mixture... I didnt include button labels because positioning may be different for everyone.
