Arcade Cabinet's Subreddit
« on: April 23, 2013, 07:53:42 pm »
well hello everyone. i am new to the arcadecontrols.com forums and i want to introduce myself. my name is chase, also known as retrostark. i am an indie dev who is currently spending most of his time developing games around his life in some way. i also as a side hobby build arcade machines.

i recently went ahead and created a subreddit http://www.reddit.com/r/arcadecabinets/. i went ahead and did this because i was in need and wanting a reddit where i could go and dump off some pictures and tutorials about some cabs. since this did not exist on reddit i made it happen.

i know that arcadecontrols.com is a perfectly good place for me to do this, but i believed there was to much of a lack of it on reddit, and in some senses reddit is the better choice for those type of things.

so if any of you use reddit and are interested pop by and drop some of your projects, and even if you haven't ever used or even heard of reddit (your missing out) there's always a time to start and why not start now.

in the coming weeks i will be looking for active users over there to start helping me moderate the subreddit. you will get full capability to mod the site and help keep annoyances out. i will set up a form for people wanting to apply for mod up and than link it on the reddit.

Not to rain on your parade, but on reddit, this sub already covers these topics for what it's worth:

:banghead: hmm no i really do thank you. this could either make me stop what i am doing because than i seem like a copy, or continue. i searched for a good while to find an arcade subreddit, but i couldn't tell you why this one didn't come about.

i think i will have to throw my own twist on it to make /r/arcadecabinets different from /r/cade.

thanks much for the tip  ;)
