NAVE Arcade
« on: April 09, 2013, 11:41:54 am »
This is NAVE Arcade, our first game in a cabinet.
We are a couple of indie game developers from Argentina, and we built this ourselves with the help of some friends.

we've even made a spot :)

And we have a series of making of videos (we have to finish editing the last ones):

I'll upload more info and photos later.

Thanks all! I'm glad you like it

The graphics on the cab are spectacular.

We got the help of some friends from Neurorama who liked the project. Look at their work. It's awesome!

Very Nice Video. Very professional mate

My partner in Videogamo, Hernan, it's also a director, so we managed to do a nice looking video with no budget (again with the help of friends, in this case from Farsa Producciones).

Awesome!  What is the game running on?  Can you share anything about how you developed the game?  Language, frameworks, etc.?  Looks like a fun one.

judging by the 'making of' videos they have on their youtube channel, the game was created in flash  :-\

The game runs on a PC, and was developed in Flash.
There's also a C++ app developed in Qt that connects with the flash game and controls the lights at the sides of the monitor.

We started developing the game itself a couple of years ago, as one of the first things we did together. It was an on and off thing because we did other games in the middle, until we were invited to show the game on an expo and thought that building a cabinet for it would be a great way of showing it.

We are really happy with the result, and enjoy seeing people playing the game:

I'm curious about this "tour" that you guys are doing.  Has that been done already, or is it happening soon?  What's the feasibility of a tour surrounding a project like this?

The tour is happening. Only right know we are just moving it in buenos aires.
Our plan is to be able to take the game to some other cities in Argentina (we have already been talking with some folks interested), and then we'd love to take abroad.
It won't be easy, because of the expenses of transporting the cabinet.
We are analyzing different possibilities (transport, financing, etc), and trying to contact people or events that might be interested in hosting the game, so we can plan a trip with as many venues as we can.
If you know someone or some place that might be interested let me know  :)
