  • I want my own arcade controls!
Subject says it all.  I've gotten CPWizard working great with a spare PSOne LCD I had laying around.  Now my only complaint is that it is cycling through all these images.  Is there any way that I can JUST show the Control Panel and NOTHING else?  It seems like misdirecting the paths only slows it down (I'm guessing that it is showing "blank" images).

Thanks a bunch!

Dave

Set the sub screen to be your CP layout. If you use a suffix of (0)..(1)..(2) etc. it will cycle through them. By default these are Sub (0), Sub (1), Sub (2), Sub (3) and Sub (4). So by default it's set to "Sub (0)" and will then rotate between the 5 different layouts.

Thanks for the super fast response.  That makes PERFECT sense.

Now, unfortunately CPWizard is doing something very strange.  No matter whether or not I have the sub screen option selected, it is not working.  Everything shows fine on my primary monitor if I bring up the CP using the "show" button.  It just won't show CPWizard on the second screen when MAME is running (which it WAS doing last night).

It just doesn't make any sense.  No matter what I try (rebooting, changing primary/secondary monitors, etc.) it is not working the way that it should.  I'm sure that I did something wrong.  Whenever I change the "screen" setting in CPW to my secondary screen and turn OFF "sub screen", it shows up fine on there.

Very odd.  Is there something that I have to do to my sub screen layout to be able to allow it to be seen on a secondary monitor?

I made this video to show my settings (in case it helps)

Thanks again for your help.  I know that all of these CPWizard questions must get boring.

I wish I could figure out how I fixed it, but I guess a little too much beer was involved.  No matter, I've got it all rocking now.

I do have one last question though:  Does anyone know how to do control overrides for the secondary/sub screen?  I can get them to work fine when displaying on my main monitor, but the sub screen only shows my default control layout.  Since I'm using a 5" screen, I need to keep it uncluttered, so I would like to only show the exact controls being used.

I must admit, once you get this all set up, it really does take your cabinet to another level.  Everyone that has seen it, raves about it.

Thanks,
Dave

Anyone out there know what I'm doing wrong? Is it even possible to do overrides on the second screen?

Did you ever get this working? I'm really struggling with CPWizard 2nd display on Windows 8. Wish there was some decent documentation somewhere...

You're welcome to write the documentation for it!  ;D

Busted.  ::)

In all honesty, headkaze - when I get fluent with it, I'll happily do a picture guide or summat - just gotta crack it myself first!

I'd also say that it's not always the job of the developer to produce guides and how-tos!! That's what these forums are for - for people to spread their learning!

Onwards and upwards!
