Need Help. I lost a diagram and am hating HAPP right now.
« on: March 24, 2013, 01:50:12 pm »
First i lost the instructions to the  Xin Mo Arcade to USB Controller 2 player.
Does anyone know where i can find them online?

Second, i'm having a conniption fit with these Happ joysticks. It's like either the shaft is too short or the Z-Stop is too long. I'll try to explain. Using terms described in the diagram which i included in the pic below.

If i take the Hub that is put together, i put on the "Pivot Cylinder" on the shaft....(keep in mind this isn't in the control panel yet, just holding the parts.)
Then i insert the shaft through the Zstop in the Hub assembly, the end of the shaft does not stick out past the Actuator, meaning i cannot put the E-ring on to hold it all together.

IF i remove the "Pivot Cylinder", then when i put it all on my control panel, the stick is too short and looks retarded. My CP is 1/2" wood. Also, the E-ring has just enough gap between the Actuator and the E-ring that it makes the Actuator sit like a millimeter or so lower where it cannot properly hit the Microswitches. :timebomb:

So, just to clarify, in the pic below, to the left, that shaft does not stick out past the Actuator when inserted into the Hub on the right. There are 3 places for that E ring, If i remove the Pivot Cylinder, it puts me in the second notch on the shaft, where i can put the E ring but is kinda loose for the Actuator where it can't hit the switches properly and the joystick is too short on top of the Control Panel.

The Z stop needs to be shorter so the Actuator sits down further in the Hub, which would allow it to hit the switches better and allow me to put on the E ring. I have taken it all apart, nothing is improper, pretty simple layout but something definitely isn't right. I have been messing with it and trying to rig it using different things for a couple of hours and am getting nowhere fast.
So i don't get it and am seriously . I'll never buy HAPP again, that's for sure.

Explanations and suggestions appreciated.
This is a pic of the diagram i have, except mine shows part names and this one doesn't but is all i could find online. I also really need that USB controller diagram. Thanks

Not sure if this is the one you have but Paradise Arcade Shop had the instructions on their site.
Can you take a picture of your set up/problem with your joystick, it'll make it easier to give you suggestions on how to fix it.

This is the controller at the site, but i am not seeing any diagram or instructions. Where would it be at?

Here is a pic, the armature doesn't push down any further. I took it completely apart and i don't see anything wrong. I thought maybe the z stop would push further since the spring looks long enough but i'm basically stuck here.
Considering buying something else but not sure what exactly.

If it absolutely wont go down any further, you could sand it down or cut it down a bit so the c clamp thingy fits on it. I am sure someone else will chime in with a proper way. Just a thought, good luck.

Just got 2 in today and was thinking the same thing but if you push down on the sides of the actuator it will go down far enough to then slide the e-ring clip onto the shaft. (the black part of the shaft that the actuator slides onto will move when you press on the sides of the actuator and the steel shaft will then be far enough out to place the e-clip on.

Here's a blurry pic of mine (camera is acting up !) :
