i dont say its impossbile , buts its not worth the effort. sonys broadcasting monitors are packed with pcbs and all kind of stuff. it would be difficult to dismantle it all and rebuilt it inside a cab . i suggest building something around such a beast or check the market for an old 50-60 hertz ( usually black cased ) sony tv set. old sony trinitron tvs are almost as good as theire studio brothers without most of the downsides . usually the chassis are small and plug n play style . a 10 year old child could talke it apart in less than 15 minutes . a con against sonys in arcade cabinets is the trinitron shape of the tube , meaning the curvature and mounting is far from mainstream . u have to adapt the mounting frame , bezel etc. if u are are able to aquire a sony in good shape with few miles on the tachometer ( grandma or bedrooms tvs ) and adjust it properly , u will be rewarded with very good lowres image quality .
