mame noob need to ditch the nag screen??
« on: February 25, 2013, 07:54:19 pm »
Im running on ver 148..Is there a version out there of this that is compiled without the nag screen?? Its a pain because im running on a tankstick and its not considered a joystick by mame so I have to pull out the keyboard and type OK for every rom.

It looks like you only have to do it once...so its not a big deal

I will refer you to this:

http://mamedev.org/devwiki/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions

Every question in regards to mame, be it general or specific should be answered here.  If it isn't then you need to read it again, because the answer is there.  ;)

I wanted to do the same thing on mine tried asking and got links (which i read and still didnt have an arrow pointed at the bit that i wanted :) ) off someone instead of an answer, and people talking about compiling and decompiling and piling the piling (still not done it) tried searching for no nag mame and all that, no results.

then i went to get my trackball working and saw a line in the mame.ini file

skip_gameinfo               0

i changed the 0 to a 1 and theres no more nag screens on mine anymore, I`m using v0.146 btw, maybe that`ll work on yours, good luck :)
Hit something hard enough it should work, if it dont the result can always be called art :)

shout out if it worked or not, if someone else posts the same question in the future i`ll answer, if it didnt i`ll keep my mouth (keyboard?) shut :) also jealous that you had 10 times as much space to build in :)
