Response to CheffoJeffo:
"Seller is claiming "works 90% of the time" -- red flag, requires information beyond "I replaced the monitor so it must be the PCB"
By the way I have no idea how you connected "works 90% of the time" with "I replaced the monitor so it must be the PCB"
As far as what you said, I was simply stating that the Arcade, as it stands, works 90% of the time.
I replaced the monitor and it STILL works only 90% of the time. The monitor didn't change a damn thing. So since the monitor was OBVIOUSLY not the problem I can only assume the PCB is the problem..
"Seller indicates that he wants more than double the price because he worked on it a little -- let's Google his Restored(tm)"
Regardless of what I am selling it for on CL. I told you guys 400.
250 dollars + a Sega Genesis, 2 controllers and 17 games (lets say thats 60 dollars) and since you said I am charging you more than double that we got to times that by 2. 320 x 2= 640 dollars. 640 dollars is not 400.
Yes I would like to get a less than that for it on Craigslist, but I am not trying to charge you guys that.
I am also not putting a gun up to your head and forcing you to buy it either, am I?
"Seller says cab is 9/10, but he didn't spend much money -- so anything justifying the price jump has to be labor or skill (see above)"
I said I replaced the internals. The 9/10 was for outside cosmetics only, and it was already in great shape when I purchased it. Every time I get a reply from you I notice you completely misunderstand every sentence that I say in the OP..
"Seller indicates that PCB needs to be cleaned in order to work -- really, WTF does that mean ?"
Cleaning the pcb may possibly fix the problem of the PCB malfunctioning. DO YOU EVEN READ MY POSTS OR DO YOU JUST SKIM THROUGH?
I don't know, you tell me. You guys are the ones who told me to clean the PCB to fix it from malfunctioning.
The arcade only works 90% of the time, remember? It's because of the PCB..
"Seller indicates cleaning shouldn't cost more than $150 -- ProTip: if cleaning was worth it, seller would have done it."
It's funny that you say this.. On the other posts you mentioned I am most likely not a professional restorer. You're right about me not being experienced. But it's Now you're saying I should of done something that is fairly risky. I was not taking a risk of ruining that pcb by cleaning it. And the only reason I mentioned cleaning it IS probably worth saving that 150 dollars is because I know more than half of you probably know how to clean a PCB. I don't. Remember what Nephasth said, a FULLY WORKING wacko is worth 550. My arcade just need to have the PCB fixed so I took a 150 dollars off. A wacko PCB can't be more than 150 dollars and it's probably just dirty anyways. And my machine has a lot of new stuff in it and is in 9/10 outside condition. Why do I feel like I am repeating myself from my last post about the Wacko machine.
"Seller indicates that he wants to charge higher prices because he paid more than he should for cabs -- "I was stupid, so you should be too!"
Not what I said at all. I was saying arcade machines are expensive on Craigslist. I feel comfortable selling it for what I want on there.
I gave you guys a fair deal, or did you already forget that? Don't think it's fair? Don't buy it..
"So, my advice to KeithPutz is to sell the cab in a place that makes sense for you to sell it (for you, CL) and then don't try to justify/defend your pricing to folks who know better and will call you on it. People will find threads like this when they look into dealing with you."
You literally misunderstood every single thing I said.. I don't know if you did that on purpose or if you I didn't explain myself clearly enough. I thought I was being quite clear Cheff."
Okay next time I am selling something on Craigslist at a price that I am comfortable with. And someone here asks me if the item is still for sale, I won't offer it to people here at this forum for 200 dollars less than my comfortable price. Sorry I was trying to be nice everyone, sorry. Sheesh. You guys can be overly zealous sometimes.
