Can somebody explain to me what Hyperlaunch is??
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:19:12 pm »
Im working on getting Hyperspin going and in conjunction with HQ ive had pretty good luck getting a few consoles working except for SNES. Ive never needed Hyperlaunch but the guys on the HS forums said ill need to use Hyperlaunch to get the Snes working. Im very confused on what its supposed to do.
Currently rebuilding a PP cab and converting it to a mame cab..view the progress here http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,122815.msg1305024.html#msg1305024

It handles the launching and exiting of emulators from hyperspin via autokey scripts..

Hyperlaunch (in my experience) needs to be used quite a bit when you start trying to set up console emus. Are you using Hyperspin 1.2? I would suggest that you make sure you update Hyperlaunch to its latest version, bc that seems to be the way they are moving forward with hyperspin. I didn't like it at first bc I had all my scripts modified in the main Ahk file that held all the special script I needed I needed to launch unofficial emus.
It sounds like you are just starting with HS so it should be really easy in your scenerio.
Follow BBB's tutorial here:
http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?10709-HyperLaunch-2-x-Released

But follow it to a T !

A few things to note once you have updated or verified that you are using Hyperlaunch 2.X:
You have to make sure that in your HS root directory that you create a folder called MODULES.
within this folder you are going to create a folder called SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM (not Snes; it has to be spelled out just like I have in bold. Now open the HYperlaunch 2.x exe, and click "download modules". This will take you to the page where you can download the official and unofficial AHK scripts. Just look for the SNES module and click on it. Should bring up all the modules that are available for it. Find the one that matches the emulator that you are using, and be sure to use DJVJ's. (I use his and they work great). Now you want to save that file to HYPERSPIN>MODULES>SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM
Once it is there you have to change whatever it is called to SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM.AHK
So when all is said and done the trail should look like this, so that Hyperlaunch can find the AHK file:
HYPERSPIN>MODULES>SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM>SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM.AHK
(I know this seems rediculous, but that is how the hierarchy is set up.)
You'll then need to go into HyperHQ and be sure to set your SNES settings to "enable Hyperlaunch"
Once that is done you should be able to successfully start up Hyperspin and launch whatever SNES system you are using.

If there is any other EMUS that you have to use Hyperlaunch for, then they need to be set up in the same manner. Always remember to name the subfolder under modules with the EXACT system name that HYPERSIN calls it, and to also rename the AHK file to that name as well.

I am typing this from my iPhone and not at my local computer, so I am referring to all of this  from very recent memory. I hope I am describing everything accurately.

Anyway, try this out and let me know if you have any problems. The specifics that I stated above seemed to be left out of the tutorial in the link I provided, and didn't want you to miss those like indie before.
