Reverse address look up..?
« on: February 05, 2013, 06:54:05 pm »
I don't even know if that title is accurate for this question but this is pretty random.  I figured maybe someone here may be able to help out..

About 12 years ago at my old house, I lived next door to this one kid.  We used to hang out, play vg's, etc.. but I ended up moving away.  Fast forward to today and I end up finding a N64 cart in a box in my garage with his name markered on it.  I kind of work by my old house so I thought it would be pretty funny to swing by and see if his family still lived there and return his game 12 years later lol.. but of course he doesn't.

Is there any easy way to look up people who previously lived at a house address..?  I don't really have much to go on other than the address, he was a little younger than me, I know his first name and his 2 siblings first names, and they came here from Sweden.. So they would probably have some unique last name and would be easy to pick out if there was a list or something..  Is this something that someone here has had to do before..?  Not really wanting to do anything where I have to pay a website or a private investigator..  Because if it is screw it.

I was thinking maybe the new owners might know (doubt it), maybe they still get there mail and I can get a last name, or try talking to the person/agent that sold them the house..  Anyone have any ideas?

Man, between this and your other families home movie collection, you're pretty ---smurfing--- creepy.

Couldn't you visit the local school and ask the office for student info from <insert relevant year> or go to the town office and ask for resident history?  Otherwise the least sketchy method would be to find an old phone book or something.

By any chance is the game mischief makers?

LOL, nah it's not Mischief Makers..  It's Goldeneye.

Thanks for the tips guys.  Yeh.. didn't want to have to go back to the his old house again.. it was awkward enough the first time when I rang the door bell and some other family opened the door.. didn't really know what to say so I was like "oh, sorry I think I have the wrong house" like a freakin idiot.. imagine me going back there again asking about a past family that lived there or old mail for a Swedish family..

All I need is his last name really..  this digital age we live in I'm sure I can find him on FB and just message him.

Exactly why I'm not on FB. So the creepers can't find me.

It's probably safe to assume that his last name isn't markered on the game?   ;D

Some states make home sales public record.  A local realtor should have access to that information, which would at least give you a name.  A local appraiser would definitely have access to the information, so you could try making a few calls and see if someone is nice enough to do the search for you.

??????...........you didn't have the wrong house, dodie. You say, "Hi, I hung out with a kid who lived here, and am trying to get hold of him. Ahh, well thanks, good-bye."  Freakin weenies around here.  Anyways, forget about it. Either keep it - or sell it.
