Inset (pocket?) hinges might be what you want.

Mcseforsale used them here for his CP. (Pics and video at link)

They were originally designed for use with cabinet doors like yours IIRC.

As PL1 mentions, you're looking for something best described with keywords "inset hinges":
http://www.brassware.co.uk/FTD-Concealed-Blum-Style-Kitchen-Cabinet-Hinge-With-Built-In-Soft-Close-For-Inset-Doors/pid-20271

The typical euro hinges will require you to screw a piece of wood between the cabinet side and the hinge.

As mentioned above, full inset hinges is what you're looking for.

I used them on my son's cab...

I don't have a photo of the hinges installed, but I drew up what I did.  The hinges should be further apart... but this is just an illustration:

These were scary for me the first time I did them... not so much now. :)

The hinge manufacturer will provide an installation sheet (may have to download it).  Also, you can get these at any woodworking store.  The staff can "usually" give you pointers.

Here's a good illustration of the differences in these hinges.  Woodcraft sells them here: Inset Hinges

If you check out Knievel's Woody (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,55789.40.html), you can see a pic of his application of the hinges.

Knievel talked about the use of them:

"Making the door 1/4" (smaller) than the opening normally works for me, so an 1/8" off either side. You could try trimming less and test fitting it. 1/4" would be the most you'd need to trim off.

If you use the Inset type of European hinge you don't need any sort of frame. The hinge mounts directly to the the side of the cabinet."

+1
I've used them on 3 cabinets now for front and back doors, and 4 control panels.  They work great.  Just make sure that you get a 1-3/8" forstner bit.
