Fixed my Jeep Fog light switch
« on: January 28, 2013, 01:02:30 pm »
I'm so proud. Tinkering skills I learned here lead me to take apart my stering collumn.

Old issue, fog light seemed shorted out. Lights would come on randomly.

Turned out to be a mechanical issue. a plastic pin had worn down so it could no longer raise the contact and break the circuit reliably.

I thought it was shorted for years. Anyway, I used some JB weld to build the pin back up and it works good as new.

Thanks BYOAC!

Heh, it's amazing what general troubleshooting, a little wiring knowledge, and a little confidence can do.
