Galaga bug with thick stroke
« on: November 03, 2003, 11:46:16 am »
Didnt someone vectorize the Galaga bug with the thick stroke on it? Rather than re-do, I thought I would ask for the Cocktail CPO.

Yeah, I did. I just did the bug though. But then the rest isn't so hard either. It's in CorelDraw format and I exported it to AI. I hope that worked. http://arcade.laweb.nl/BYOAC/Galaga_Cocktail_Figure.zip

But really, do you think it is supposed to look that way? To me it looked like a poor reproduction.

I got the raw image of the Cokctail CP from http://www.arcadecollecting.com/caga/unclean/

I got that impression too. The lines are way too thick. I have the same CPO from CAGA. I came across a lo-res version and the bug has thin lines.

Thank you for the bug. Its all I needed to complete the CPO.

Tom,

I thought I read that you uploaded the cocktail panel artwork. I can't seem to find it though. Or am I confused with the Galaxian control panels?

Zorg,

I assume, that's the image mentioned above (or the cleaned-up version of it anyway).

I was hoping I could use Tom's vectorized artwork to help me finish the upright control panel a bit quicker.  Just as my galaga bug helped him finish the cocktail CPO :P Seems a waste to start tracing texts and stuff if it already has been done.

I agree.
if you know and have the correct font for the text, you don't need to trace the text . just type it and arange it to fit the original. and use the text tools menu to "convert to vector" the text. ;) faster And more accurate than tracing the whole text letter by letters
