...that's funny.

The only arcade game I've "finished" was T2 recently in Mame using at leat $100.00 in virtual quarters!

....I don't think I've ever actually finished an arcade game in an arcade (just a few of the home versions of various games).

The MameMaster!
Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?

Great story, I like the way he lost his job and girlfriend...but it gave him the time required to beat the game.

It is bloody hard in fairness, tho I think the Ghouls 'n Ghosts might be slightly harder!...

Cheap ripoff?  Why can't funny just be funny?  Or does the Onion have the market cornered?   ;)

Ugh, I've been chasing the dream of Beating Ghouls and Ghosts for over 10 years - this all sounds way to familiar to be funny at all.

It took my brother and I bout 6 hours to get to the last level of Ghosts n Goblins, we were both running on caffine at that point so we just turned it off and decided we'd better leave it for another day.  Now if he could beat Super Ghouls n Ghosts BOTH times in 36 hours, now that I would be impressed by!  That game is seriously impossible to every extent, I always die at the level where everything starts going pseudo-3D and the SNES hardware slows down when the graphics start spinning around your character.  That level is a freakin beast.  Hmm... ghouls and ghosts, I think I'm gonna go load something up....

It's funny. I used to swear as a kid that I would ONE DAY get past the first level of that confounded game on the commodore 64, and I never did.

I remember watching someone complete "Super Ghouls and Ghosts" after going for it for longer than a day, (surprisingly enough my second cousins mother who would have been in their 40's) then reaching the very end, then discovering that they had to play through the game "again" and turning it off in disgust and relief.

Now, discovering Mame about 6 months ago, and probably 10 years after my first experience with Ghosts n' Ghouls I vowed that I will one day complete that game... and so far i've made it up to the 5 or 6th level, and it's still going... with no signs of ever getting there.

Ahh well. It took him what, 17 years? Give me another 7 years. I'll beat him someday!
