Doubling up on Double Up
« on: December 24, 2012, 01:37:11 pm »
Some time back I got a minty fresh dedicated 1981 Omega Products Double Up video poker in return for picking up a lot of games for a buddy of mine. It would always go to an error screen after a few games, so it wasn't really playable.

Then saturday at an auction I noticed that 5 of the video poker machines they had there were inexplicably running the 1981 Omega Double up PCB instead of anything modern. 4 of them were actually in brand new cabarets with LCD screens and the 5th was in a very recent vintage sit at cabinet.

I managed to snag to the 5th one for $50. I am of course going to use the board out of it to repair the original dedicated one.

Still need to figure out what to do with the leftover cabinet.

Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Could add a couple more buttons and make a mahjong cabinet.
