neotec nt-2701 problem after capping
« on: December 19, 2012, 08:15:34 pm »
ok so ive officially put my foot down against neotec..but this time was my fault i recapped this chassis as it was experiencing dim picture with a new flyback. but when i capped it i accidentally put a a 220uf @16v instead of a 22uf @ 160v on the power supply side of the chassis and now it chirps. so i found that cap and replaced it with the right one and it still chirps...damn it. so i thought to test voltage at filter cap and work from there. filter cap voltage fluctuates with original smps ic in. when i change it with another one i get solid voltage from filter cap but no chirp and no voltage past to the otherside of the smps..bad ic or bad fet? i have a new fet im putting in tonight to see if it is just the fet but feel free to give advise..thanks

The FET probably blew.

yup that one did and a cap in another location. that board works...now if i could just get this final nt27e working i would be in heaven. damn thing had some missing parts so i replaced those but it still wont fire up the flyback. good volts all the way to the hot. and i have replaced the hot.
