Can't disable cocktail mode/screen flipping

Okay, feeling like a complete idiot here.  Wanted to try Lunar Rescue (lrescue) in MAME and no matter how I play with the settings, the screen always gets flipped 180 degrees for player two as if in cocktail mode.  Hit the Tab button - the Driver Configuration is for an upright cabinet.  Go to Video Options - it's set for 4:3.  What am I missing?   :banghead:

Also having this issue with Spectar (spectar).  I hate to ask such a dumb question, but I've Googled and searched until my typing fingers are sore.   :-[
