Stupid Newbie Zinc Question
« on: October 30, 2003, 10:39:42 am »
I  can't believe I can't figure this out, but after googling through 100's of pages of information on vitamins could someone please tell me how in the %$$% you go about telling ZInc to ignore its system keys during game play.

Example.  In My mame cab, button 1 is LEFT CTRL.  So I configured same for Zinc, but everytime I press it it pauses the game and seems to do something with the graphics layers.  Same deal with a few other buttons.  Yes I know I could WinIpac my way around it and I will if I have to.  It seems like itr should be easier than that though.

Or better yet is there a rebuild of Zinc with MAME like keys out there?  Preferably something along the lines of GENSFE, or ZSNESFE?  Yes I know there is a ZincFE thats not what I mean...

TIA

You need to use a different graphics renderer.  I can't remember which way round, but use the one you are not currently using, and it should be OK (doesn't use ctrl etc.)...

goto www.emuhype.com and ask there.  You will probably get a better answer.

But there is a plugin for changing the keys.  I haven't done it in AGES...

You may want to try using DaFreaks GUI. I had no luck with the DOS version (I use XP); but I was able to get it working perfectly w/my XArcade using the GUI.

The MameMaster!!
Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?

That was it, thanks... the new renderers on the ZInc site www.emuhype.com don't cause this problem....
