Rowe R-87 problem
« on: November 22, 2012, 04:00:39 am »
Question, I just acquired a R-87 and as soon as I switch the service switch to on or service the Gripper doesn't stop and the needle doesn't stop.  So what is happening is the Gripper drops the record the needle moves on to the record for 1/2 second and then the Gripper picks record up and places back in Magazine.  This motion continues on and on.  What could be wrong?

Hello chrisps,

So what you real name?

The following boards will need to be removed and sent to a Rowe Ami specialist in your country.
In the USA is Bruce Wentwork in Europe there is myself.

Central Control Computer (CCC) on the rear of the cabinet
Mechanism Control Unit (on the mechanism)
Pricing Board (under the CCC it has a clear cover)

When you remove the plugs from the boars pull on the plastic molding of the plugs not the wiring.

Regards
Alan

Would this also solve the problem with the Magazine only rotating like 11 selections at a time and not to the next selected record?
