Powering Monitor from Computer PSU

I saw a couple of mods where people actually powered their monitors from the computer PSU.  If anyone has a picture or tutorial on how to do this I would greatly appreciate it.

Assuming it is a 12V monitor it should just be a matter of building an adapter and hook it up to any molex/hard drive power connector.
And of course, make sure you have enough capacity at the PSU for that added consumption.

This might not be an option for you depending on what your are doing but smartstrip will power your monitor at the same time you turn on your computer.  It's just a powerstrip that has master and slave outlets so if you plug your computer into the master and your monitor into the slave they will both turn on when you power your computer.

instead of a jumper on the poeer switch try a 100uF 16 volt capacitor.

use a test meter to find out which of the legs of the switch has 5 volts...connect the + of the cap to this leg and the negative to the other.

sometimes this can boot up the monitor when power is applied.
