Looking for advice regarding cabinet plans
« on: December 22, 2012, 03:03:53 pm »
Hi all! This is my first post, so please forgive me if I'm in the wrong place. I've been researching for months and am ready to dive into my first build!

I've seen a number of great plans, but have not been able to find something that is user friendly (kind of like actual plans instead of pictures from which to draw conclusions). Does anybody have any advice for actual plans? I've seen the little cabarets or really super slim builds and that'd be perfect. I'm building a 2 player machine, but I want to mount my monitor vertically and only put in the 4-way joysticks and a trackball. If anybody knows of a build like this that has a kind footprint please let me know! Thanks all.

Welcome aboard, DigginDuggie.

Have you looked at Ond's Metropolis build thread?

Another great place is the Project Announcements forum where you can find the Vigolix (plans in this post) and many other great builds.

If there is a particular build that catches your eye, the builder will usually be able to provide any desired measurements.

If you want more of a traditional cab style, Jakobud has plans for a number of classic cabs.  They're not quite what you described, but you might be able to adjust them to suit your needs.
