emdkay.net Reproduction Marquees
« on: October 28, 2003, 05:26:01 am »
Has anyone purchased any reproduction marquees from Emdkay?  If so, what is the quality like?  After searching their website I found that they sell a Nintendo vs. The Goonies marquee (exactly what I've been looking for).  I am extremely eager to put in my order but was wondering if they are a quality product (ie. close to looking as good as the original, including artwork, etc.)  Are there big differences in the reproduction compared to what the original would have looked like, such as richnes of colour?  Are they created from the oriinal source, or are they re-done from scratch?  Any help would be appreciated.

I've never ordered from them but I've read lots of good posts here from people who were very happy with the work that they do.

Do a search on the message archive and I'm sure you'll find many happy customers.

I'm about as picky a person as you're going to get, being a graphic designer.  I wanted to support those doing stuff for the MAME community so I got a marquee from Emdkay.  I had heard they were good, but I just figured it was because most people just aren't familiar w/ proper printing techniques.

Well, when I got my marquee I was VERY impressed.  I never actually thought it would turn out as good as it did.  The color reproduction was spot on and the quality of the stock is excellent.  The only thing better would be to get a NOS marquee from some game.

Just be sure whatever you send him is high quality, and I think you'll be happy.
