Removal of split mame roms
« on: October 22, 2003, 11:50:34 am »
Hi,

I'm under tight harddisk constraints for my next cabinet (bartop).

I have all the mame roms from a couple of releases ago, but would like some way of automatically removing the split sets (eg the clones and international versions).

So, I want to end up with just the parent sets of each game which I think will help save disk space, and also reduces clutter in the front end.

Does anyone know an automated way to do this? (I have clrMamePro but it doesn't seem to have a way of doing it).

Thanks,

Lee

How many games will you actually play?
Why don't you just burn your ROMS on to CD ( if you haven't already )then erase the ROMS from your hard drive and save the ones you will play. There is very little point having a full set on your hard drive I only have about 400 games and I'm not missing anything I'll ever play.
