Thank you everyone

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that contributes to the arcadecontrols forum. A few months ago I knew nothing about building may own arcade. I finally started my arcade several weeks ago. And I have to tell you, if it wasnt for everyone that contributes to this forum and has sites regarding their arcade cabinets I would never have started.

So instead of trying to thanks all of the people that provided info individually. I decided to thank you all. Because if you posted something Im sure Ive read it.

So please check out my site and dont be afraid to post negative feedback. I can take it.

Looks good - but why'd you make the second player joystick a leftie?  Have a left handed friend who's always over?  Yours is the second panel I've seen with that layout...  it's not just for symmetry is it?

We thought about that one for a while :)

The reason for the joystick placement was two fold.

First my wife is left-handed.

Second because i added the trackball I wanted enough clearance on both sides so that you wouldnt bang your hand when using it.

Cool, so there is a leftie involved.   ;)

Does she like the configuration of the joystick?  I kind of wondered about that...   because the original arcade machines always had the joystick on the left, so seems like left handed people would have their hands trained for that anyway.

She loves it.

My wife also loves the slots as well so I added allslots app to the arcade and configured it so that when you pull down on the second player joystick it spins the slots. She says that it feels natural to her.

And I tried it as well. Even though I prefer the first player joystick I find it just as easy to play with the second.

You should be able to just drop those into your site directory.  If you like it, that is.

I used to scream and holler "Joystick on the left, buttons on the right". But then I started monitoring my own gameplay habits.

I play Pac-Man and all other "no button" games with my right hand. I play Star Wars Trilogy with my right hand, and I play my Kangaroo machine (ambidextrous layout) with my right hand. Although pretty much everything else I play with the left hand.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
