What screen res should i be running mame on my tv?
« on: October 14, 2003, 01:32:33 pm »
Im using the latest versions of mamewah and mame. When i choose 800x600 (or 640x480) once i start the game, it appears HUGE on my tv. If i choose 1024x768 it appears fine, but some text in mamewah is hard to read (the text in the mame games seems fine though).

I use 640 x 480 for mamewah I my TV.  I have an ATI Radeon 7500 and in the control panel under display properties you can adjust the screen width, height and position.

For the most part, I do not change the resolutions for MAME games.  I only change them if the resolution > 1024 x 768, since the TV can not display anything higher.  I have mamewah set so start with extra options #1 forces 640 x 480.

I wouldn't reccomend letting mame auto set the resolutions as the games won't fill the screen properly.  Your best bet is to manually set your mame res to 1024x768x32 in your mame.ini. All games will be streatched to that size.  Btw I have the 7500 too and this is how I do it.
