hantarex 900e no display
« on: October 03, 2012, 03:25:33 pm »
got an operation wolf with a 19"  900e inside
its currently playing blind,i can here the music start but screen is dead, no neck glow
not fixed up an original machine before but been reading up on this stuff.
there is no neck glow and it seems the power coming out of the power lead going to screen measures to what it says it should be to 220v and 130v. i just put my red multimeter  lead on the cable wire and the black lead on ground to get the reading.
i read i should test the hot, i understand this is the big transistor on the side with the heat sink.

if its faulty and stopping the power getting to the flyback would this be because its shorted open.
i teste dit for being shorted closed and nothing the meter gave me not bleepibg to say it was shorted.
if its working  what reading am i looking for?

i flyback looks in good condition no cracks or anything can this still be the fault?
anything else i should test on the chassis?

thanks

you should check the voltage regulator as well as the horizontal output transistor
a big problem with these chassis is open circuit TH2 horizontal drive transformer
should read something like 75 ohms on one side and 1 ohm on the other(i think)-the thin coil wire just corrode

anyway these can be a problomatic chassis to repair,I have done a fair few of these and the faults vary enormously

extremely rare for a flyback to go on these, well i have never seen one go in 27 years
