Opinions on darker style sideart from a amatuer
« on: October 03, 2012, 07:54:57 am »
I have become slightly obsessed with this site lately. I have just built the shell of my cabinet and am starting to play around with some ideas for the sideart.

I have a custom picture my friend drew of my that I wanted to work in aswell. I dont have an artistic bone in my body so I have downloaded GIMP and have started playing around with some of its features. After looking at a few other pieces of sideart with tons of characters layered up, I felt they looked a little too busy, bright and cartoony. I thought I would try my hand at something a little bit darker in style and in actual brightness. I would love some feedback, good or bad, I am here to learn after all.

Here is my draft. Keep in the mind the main picture of the handsome brute in the crown is me (my friend drew it for me and I wanted to include it in some way.)

I know its all personal preference etc, but if anyone has any ideas on how I could better use the drawing of myself i would love to hear it.
