Mame Front Ends....
« on: October 10, 2003, 03:09:02 pm »
Heres a two part question...

1. I am trying to decide which mame front end I want to use.  I think I will go with a Windows based one since I am not too familiar with DOS or command line.  What are some suggestions?

My system specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2500+  (overclock to a 3200+)
512 MB RAM
Aracde VGA Card
Windows XP OS

2. What are some Front ends you guys are running?  How do you like them?

Hope to get a good response from this...  8)

I have tried several frontends and I ended up using mamewah.

Although it is initially hard to set up, it is very customizable.  You can also get it to run any emulator/program.  I also like the mp3 background music and the screen saver support - I use emusaver, it cycles through mame games (http://www.oscarcontrols.com/lazarus/).

yeah, software forum - mostly because that's where you'll find help with front ends, not here.

(but also because we're trying to pretend we're organized, and you're messing up our Chi!  I can already feel my aura turning the wrong color...)

Is this for use in a cabinet or just your desktop pc?

i suggest using MAME32 for desktop use.
