Broken Betson Monitor... What to do?

I have a 27" CRT Betson Imperial arcade monitor (IMP 44-4070-RT) that has died twice on me.  The first time it died, I sent the PCB into Betson for repairs and after several months, they sent it back and it worked.  I had it working for about 1 hour of use and then I shut off the machine, unplugged it, and deployed to Afghanistan for a year... nobody touched it during that time.  I returned, plugged my cab in, turned it on, and the damn thing was broken again.  I sent in the PCB again (They charged me for the repairs a second time since it had been a year since I last sent it in) and they returned it after 4 months (Betson has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life).  Anyways, it doesn't work.  I got one of their techs on the phone and he said it was the yoke (At least I think that's what he said).  He tried to talk me through removing the yoke from the tube but from what he was saying, I think I need a professional to fix this.  Has anyone had a similar problem with a Betson monitor?  It just clicks when powered up and doesn't display anything...  It is incredibly frustrating and I have already spent nearly $400 to Betson to fix this $500 monitor.  I was going to call a TV repairman to come to the house and repair it but that's another $3-$500 bucks...  Should I just get a new monitor?

all too common on recent crt,wg9200 are notorious for the yoke burning out-as soon as you plug a chassis in and fire up it will take out at the very least the deflection circuit
Thing is you can't prove its the yoke until you remove it and check it for burn points

If it is the yoke, is it expensive to repair or replace?  And do you know if it is typically something that a TV repairman might be able to handle?  I figure if they can fix a computer monitor, CRT Television, etc, it should be about the same... one other thing, do you think that it burned out my PCB since I plugged it into a bad yoke?

getting hold of a yoke is the issue,do you know the exact model chassis you have as betson only rebadge other manufacturers monitors-best to post a photo
some deflection yoke are bonded to the tube which can be almost impossible to remove with destroying the tube in the process
if you do indeed have a shorting yoke then the at the very least the horizontal deflection transistor will be shorted

this issue is so common and causes so much damage to wg9200 monitors that i have stopped repairing these chassis

Can you suggest a good alternative to the monitor I currently have?  I have given up on it... the repair company got back to me and said the same...

AFAIK, the only new 27/29" CRT arcade monitors available ANYWHERE are the Makvisions.  Reviews are mixed.  They generally look decent, but the quality and reliability seems no better than the late model digital Wells Gardner or Korteks, perhaps worse.  I'm not sure who still has these in stock.  I think Twisted Quarter still has a few.  IIRC, Happ and Betson are out.

BTW, if you are getting rid of this monitor, I may be interested in acquiring it if you're remotely local.  Even if it's not repairable, I have a several of these and may find it useful for replacement parts for when (not if) they break.

I am in San Antonio, TX...  I am reticent to ship this thing anywhere just because of it's size and weight... otherwise I would ship it to Betson to have them fix it... again...

I figure if I am going to spend $499 for a new monitor, I might as well get the flat-panel one for $50 more...  It isn't the old-style arcade look I prefer but it looks like a decent monitor.

Oh, I see... I need a 27/29" monitor for my cab and a 25" wouldn't fit the space.  Too bad too, it looks like shipping of a new monitor will be about $100.  I am probably going to end up getting this: http://www.twistedquarter.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1311

It's a curved CRT and I think it will have the best look for the cab.

I can't use it... doesn't fit.  Does the Missile Command PCB/parts work?  If you want to get rid of the cab and I can convince my wife, I might be interested...
