decent source for Nintendo DSi parts.
« on: September 28, 2012, 12:40:07 am »
Just as the title asks. I need to repair my sons DSi and maybe change the color. The microphone and, according to the tech, the power supply board needs to be repaired/replaced. Anyone know of a decent source of parts & tools?

Before anyone pipes up. No, I'm not doing a swap and I'm not getting him a new one.
And I don't want to deal with ---smurfy--- knockoff parts if I can help it.

I found ifixit.com which seems to have all the parts I need except for the new color cases. They just have white.

Dealextreme and priceangels  are where i've bought NDS parts before, not official but the LCD, touchscreen, case and buttons i've bought have been good quality. Takes at least 2 weeks for delivery.

I was tempted to get a Monster Hunter shell from dealextreme in the past and wasn't too happy with the reviews.  Something along the lines of since it was cast from official cases poorly they didn't align well.

Not trying to pry here but looking for parts to get this done cheaper than Nintendo is charging?

http://store.richspsxparts.com/nidsidppobor.html for the power board

http://www.psxboy.com/catalog_110.html has a microphone

Instead of buying a new case get some Kryon Fusion spray paint, remove everything from the case, spray, replace everything, and enjoy or something.

edit-I've never bought from either of those sites so use discretion ordering in case they are from hong kong and I didn't look to deep into it.

A lot of the cheaper sites selling parts for consoles are China based, even non china sites could be getting the parts from there using a drop shipment, so if you think buying from a US/UK site means quicker delivery you could be  disapointed.
