Advmenu and rom types
« on: September 26, 2012, 01:30:11 pm »
Running Linux and Advmenu :) I have succesfully created a "custom" catver.ini for Advmenu, but there's one strange thing: I have made my own type called "Omat" ("my own" in Finnish) and marked ~2000 roms with that type in the Catver.ini. When I start Advmenu I get a list of 28 roms (Advmenu shows the type as "Omat") instead of the ~2000 roms. If I then press F3 to see the next type, I get the list of those ~2000 roms (also shown as "Omat"). Interestingly that list does not have the roms listed in the first "Omat". I checked the catver.ini several times especially concerning the roms that are listed in the first "Omat". An example rom is apb, which is listed in the first "Omat", but not in the second. Another example is outrun, which is only listed on the latter "Omat". Here's how these two roms are marked in the catver.ini:
Code: [Select]
apb=Omat
outrun=Omat

How is it possible that I have 2 lists of roms of the same type? Is there something really trivial here, that I don't understand?

I don't know. I like ADVmenu for simple set-ups, but the issues with creating other 'same emu' lists, and the requirement of shortcut/function buttons to navigate them, disqualify it for such use. It's such an outdated FE for modern set-ups.
